Dentistry
The Valley Animal Hospital has always been at the forefront of animal dentistry in the Rio Grande Valley, providing state of the art dentistry services for more than 20 years. We strive to maintain technologically advanced dental equipment including a dental x-ray unit, newest design IM3 ultrasonic scaler and IM3 dental unit. Our doctors attend dental seminars and regularly consult veterinary dental specialists to assure optimum dental care for your pet.
- Veterinary dental services provided include:
Routine preventive cleaning, including scaling, subgingival currettage(cleaning below the gumline),fluoride treatment and application of ORAVET sealant
- Routine and advanced periodontics including gingivectocmies, gingival sculpting, root planing, deep pocket curettage, packing of deep pockets, professional extractions if necessary
- Dental x-rays of diseased, mobile, or suspicious teeth to determine correct course of treatment
- Laser oral surgery now available
Diagnostics
- Full in-house laboratory for blood, serum and urine analysis
- Exfoliative cytology (needle biopsies); in-house and specialist consultation
- Electrocardiograms with telemedicine consultation if appropriate
- Intra-occular pressure measurement
- Indirect blood pressure measurement
- Radiology – routine and contrast studies
- Histopathology and advanced forensics studies by referral (referred to TVMDL)
Surgery

Boarding & Other Services
Valley Animal Hospital offers on-site boarding with air conditioned indoor cages and covered outdoor exercise runs; all dogs are housed indoors at night, placed in exercise runs each morning, returned indoors for feeding, and walked by a staff member each afternoon; we feed Science Diet and Prescription Diet foods to all boarders.
Feline boarders are housed indoors at all times.
Your pet can receive a medicated bath or be bathed and dipped by our staff Monday through Friday.
Cremations
Valley Animal Hospital has an on-site crematorium. We can provide individual cremation for your pets. Contact our office staff for details.
